TEM-1 베타-락타마제는 그람음성균의 베타-락탐 항생제 내성을 유발하는 가장 널리 알려진 효소입니다. 금속이나 보조인자를 필요로 하지 않는 단량체 단백질로, 대부분의 페니실린 및 세팔로스포린 기질(예: 니트로세핀, 형광 유도체)을 효율적으로 가수분해합니다.
이 단백질은 효소 의존적 기질 가수분해 실험의 양성 대조군으로 사용되며, 면역블롯, 새로운 기질과의 반응속도 연구, 또는 베타-락타마제 억제제 탐색 등 항균제 연구 프로그램에 활용될 수 있습니다.
