Target Information
Programmed death-ligand 2 (PD-L2), also known as B7-DC, is a member of the B7 ligand family within the immunoglobulin superfamily. PD-L2 and PD-L1 act as ligands for PD-1, regulating immune responses through inhibitory checkpoint mechanisms. PD-L2 is primarily expressed in dendritic cells, but can be induced in various immune and non-immune cells depending on cytokine environment such as IL-4, TNF-α, and IFN-γ. PD-L2 shows higher affinity to PD-1 compared to PD-L1 and can also interact with RGMb, influencing respiratory tolerance and immune regulation pathways. The human PD-L2 monomer consists of a 201-aa extracellular domain, a 21-aa transmembrane domain, and a 32-aa cytoplasmic domain.
