Target Information
The ETV6 gene encodes an ETS family transcription factor containing two functional domains:
- N-terminal pointed (PNT) domain involved in protein-protein interactions
- C-terminal DNA-binding domain
Gene knockout studies in mice suggest that ETV6 is required for hematopoiesis and maintenance of the developing vascular network.
It is also known to be involved in various chromosomal rearrangements associated with leukemia and congenital fibrosarcoma.
