MMP23B (matrix metallopeptidase 23B), also known as MMP21 or MMP22, is a regulator involved in matrix remodeling and may play a role in endochondral bone formation and cranial suture closure. It has three isoforms (44 kDa, 48 kDa, and 46 kDa) produced by alternative splicing and can be N-glycosylated.
