Target Information
The DDX52 gene encodes a member of an RNA-binding protein family with nucleolytic activity against cytotoxic lymphocyte (CTL) target cells. It may be involved in apoptosis induction by recognizing poly(A) homopolymers and inducing DNA fragmentation in CTL targets. The major granule-associated species is a 15-kDa protein derived from the carboxyl terminus of the 40-kDa product by proteolytic processing. Alternative splicing results in different isoforms of this gene product.
