Target Information
SLAM (Signalling Lymphocyte Activation Molecule) family is a group of receptors on T cells that modulate the immune response.
SLAMF9 (also known as CD2F-10 or CD84 homolog) is a 289 amino acid type I transmembrane protein sharing 58% identity with the mouse homolog.
It is mainly expressed in hematopoietic tissues and includes:
- An extracellular region with two N-linked glycosylation sites
- A 20-residue transmembrane region
- A positively charged 30-residue cytoplasmic tail
These features suggest SLAMF9 functions as an adhesion molecule and as a coreceptor for lymphocyte activation.
