Cytoplasmic or axonemal Dynein is a ~12-subunit complex composed of two heavy chains, two intermediate chains (for cargo anchoring), four smaller intermediate chains, and several light chains.
It is essential for cellular functions such as organelle transport and centrosome assembly.
TCTEX1 is a cytoplasmic dynein light chain found in a complex with Na⁺ CP type X (SCN10A).
TCTEX1D4, also known as TCTEX2 beta, interacts with various members of the TGF-beta receptor family and, when overexpressed, inhibits TGF-beta signaling.
