Target Information
CYP2A6 유전자는 cytochrome P450 초과가족에 속하는 효소를 암호화합니다. 이 단백질은 약물 대사, 콜레스테롤 및 스테로이드 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase로 작용하며, 주로 소포체에 위치합니다. Phenobarbital에 의해 발현이 유도되며, coumarin hydroxylation 및 nicotine, aflatoxin B1, nitrosamines 등의 대사에 관여합니다. 특정 대립유전형을 가진 개인은 coumarin이나 nicotine을 효율적으로 대사하지 못하는 “poor metabolizer” 표현형을 나타냅니다. CYP2A6은 염색체 19q의 CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F 유전자 클러스터에 포함됩니다. 이전에는 CYP2A3으로 불렸으나 현재 CYP2A6으로 명명되었습니다.
