Target Information
Collagen III is a fibrillar collagen found in extensible connective tissues such as skin, lung, and the vascular system, often associated with type I Collagen. Mutations in this gene are linked to Ehlers-Danlos syndrome type IV and aortic or arterial aneurysms. Alternate transcripts detected for this gene are mutation-induced, often causing exon exclusion through altered splicing.
