Target Information

HNRPH3 belongs to the subfamily of ubiquitously expressed heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoproteins (hnRNPs). These are RNA-binding proteins that complex with heterogeneous nuclear RNA (hnRNA). They are associated with pre-mRNAs in the nucleus and influence pre-mRNA processing, mRNA metabolism, and transport.

While all hnRNPs are present in the nucleus, some shuttle between the nucleus and cytoplasm. HNRPH3 contains two quasi-RRM domains that bind RNA and is localized in nuclear bodies. It participates in splicing and early heat shock-induced splicing arrest by transiently leaving hnRNP complexes.
