Target Information
ETFA는 미토콘드리아 지방산 β-산화의 초기 단계를 촉매하는 과정에 관여하며, 1차 플라보단백질 탈수소효소와 막 결합형 전자 전달 플라보단백질 유비퀴논 환원효소 사이에서 전자를 전달합니다.
전자 전달 플라보단백질의 결함은 type II glutaricaciduria와 관련이 있으며, 이는 여러 acyl-CoA 탈수소효소 결핍으로 인해 다양한 유기산(글루타르산, 젖산, 에틸말론산 등)이 과다 배출되는 질환입니다.
이 유전자는 서로 다른 두 가지 isoform을 암호화하는 전사 변이체를 가집니다.
