GPI-anchor는 세 개의 만노스 잔기를 포함하는 글리콜리피드로, 여러 혈액세포 표면 단백질을 세포막에 고정시키는 역할을 합니다.
PIGM은 만노실트랜스퍼라제 GPI-MT-I를 암호화하며, 이는 소포체 내강 쪽에서 GPI에 첫 번째 만노스를 전달합니다.
