Product Specific Information

The C398.4A monoclonal antibody reacts with ICOS (Inducible Costimulatory molecule), also known as H4/CRP-1/AILIM, and cross-reacts with mouse and rat ICOS. ICOS is a T cell-specific activation molecule, a member of the CD28/CTLA-4 family, and expressed on activated T cells. It plays a key role in T cell activation, proliferation, and humoral immune responses.

ICOS binds its ligand B7h/B7RP-1 on activated APCs, including B cells, and may have protective roles in autoimmune diseases and Th2 cell development.
C398.4A shows strong costimulation of T cell clone proliferation, intermediate costimulation on activated T cells, and weak costimulation on resting T cells. It promotes IL-10 production from pre-activated cells expressing high levels of ICOS. The epitope recognized by C398.4A does not block ICOSL binding.

Applications Tested:
Tested by flow cytometric analysis of Con A-stimulated mouse splenocytes. Recommended ≤ 0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimize titration for best performance.
