Target Information
Delta-like ligand 4 (DLL4), also known as Delta-4, is a transmembrane ligand for the Notch1 receptor and plays a key role in vascular development. DLL4 expression is induced by VEGF and functions as a negative feedback regulator to control angiogenic sprouting and promote vascular differentiation. It is highly expressed in tumor vasculature, including clear-cell renal and bladder cancers. Inhibition of DLL4 leads to increased but immature vascular proliferation, resulting in reduced tumor growth without significant toxicity.
