Target Information
ATF5 is a protein coding gene functioning as a transcription factor that can either stimulate or repress gene transcription through binding to regulatory elements such as CRE, ARE, and AARE. It plays a critical role in cell survival, proliferation, and differentiation, particularly in cerebral cortex formation and olfactory sensory neuron maintenance. ATF5 activity is modulated by CCND3 and CDK4 and is involved in multiple signaling pathways including SHH and IL1B. It also participates in adipocyte differentiation and centrosome dynamics regulation.
