Product Specific Information
- Antibody tested in direct ELISA.
- For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
This gene encodes one of the two components of elastic fibers. The encoded protein is rich in hydrophobic amino acids such as glycine and proline, forming mobile hydrophobic regions bounded by lysine crosslinks.
Deletions and mutations in this gene are associated with supravalvular aortic stenosis (SVAS) and autosomal dominant cutis laxa. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
