Target Information

This gene encodes a member of the UNC13 family, similar in domain structure to other family members but lacking an N-terminal phorbol ester-binding C1 domain. Munc13-4 plays a role in vesicle maturation during exocytosis and regulates cytolytic granule secretion. Mutations are associated with familial hemophagocytic lymphohistiocytosis type 3, a rare autosomal recessive disorder.
