Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Desmosomes are cell-cell junctions between epithelial, myocardial, and certain other cell types.
Three desmoglein subfamily members have been identified, all belonging to the cadherin cell adhesion molecule superfamily.
These desmoglein gene family members are located in a cluster on chromosome 18.
Desmoglein-1 has been identified as the autoantigen of the autoimmune skin blistering disease pemphigus vulgaris.
