Target Information
Nuclear factor kB p65 (NF-kB p65) is encoded by the RELA gene and located on chromosome 11 in humans. Also known as RelA, it belongs to the Rel family of proteins and forms a heterodimer with p50 or p52 subunits of NF-kB. Upon TNF-α binding to its receptor, IKK is phosphorylated, leading to phosphorylation and proteasomal degradation of IκB. NF-kB p65 plays a key role in transcription of the immunoglobulin κ (kappa) gene in mature B-lymphoid cells.
