Target Information
SMARCA5 is a member of the SWI/SNF family of proteins. These proteins possess helicase and ATPase activities and are involved in transcriptional regulation by modifying chromatin structure.
SMARCA5 forms part of the chromatin remodeling and spacing factor RSF, which facilitates transcription of class II genes by RNA polymerase II.
The encoded protein shares sequence similarity with the Drosophila ISWI chromatin remodeling protein.
