Target Information
TCF7L2 (also known as TCF4) is a high mobility group (HMG) box-containing transcription factor involved in the Wnt signaling pathway. It regulates pro-glucagon gene expression, influencing glucose homeostasis and GLP-1 production. Genetic variants of TCF7L2 are linked to type 2 diabetes and play a role in beta-cell survival and function. Multiple splicing isoforms are differentially expressed during cancer progression, and TCF7L2 is essential for maintaining small intestine crypt stem cells.
