Target Information
HUNK (Hormonally Up-regulated Neu-associated Kinase) is a serine/threonine kinase belonging to the mitogen-activated protein kinase family, essential for mammary tumor metastasis.
HUNK deletion in mice does not affect viability, fertility, longevity, or tumor development, and is dispensable for murine development. It is involved in vesicular transport and regulates endocytosis via interaction with rabaptin-5 protein, inducing changes in mammary glands during pregnancy.
HUNK expression has been observed in mouse brain, breast, embryo, and fetus. ESTs have been isolated from several human tissue libraries, including normal ear.
