Target Information
RIC8A is a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that activates certain G-alpha proteins by exchanging bound GDP for free GTP. It activates GNAI1, GNAO1, and GNAQ but not GNAS. This protein regulates microtubule pulling forces during mitotic chromosome movement and enhances G(q)-coupled receptor-mediated ERK activation.
