Target Information
Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) is an enveloped, positive-sense, single-stranded RNA virus that causes COVID-19. Virus particles include the RNA genome and structural proteins required for host cell invasion. Once inside the cell, the viral RNA encodes structural proteins, nonstructural proteins that direct virus assembly, transcription, replication, and host control, and accessory proteins with undetermined functions.
ORF6 encodes a viral accessory protein believed to play a role in viral pathogenesis based on similarity to other coronavirus proteins.
