Target Information
HEPACAM2 (Hepatocyte cell adhesion molecule 2)는 면역글로불린 슈퍼패밀리에 속하는 type I N-linked transmembrane glycoprotein입니다. 정확한 기능은 알려져 있지 않지만, 관련 단백질인 HEPACAM은 세포 표면에서 cis-homodimer를 형성하여 세포 접착을 조절하고 세포 증식을 억제함으로써 세포 성장 억제에 관여할 수 있습니다.
HEPACAM과 HEPACAM2 mRNA는 개종양에서 상이하게 조절되며, HEPACAM2 mRNA는 정상 조직에 비해 선종에서 증가하고 전이성 암종에서 감소합니다. 반면 HEPACAM 단백질 수준은 선종에서 감소합니다. 따라서 HEPACAM2는 종양의 발생 및 진행에서 HEPACAM과 다른 역할을 할 가능성이 있습니다.
