이 단백질은 leucine zipper 구조를 통해 DNA에 결합하며, 두 단백질 사슬이 이중 나선 구조를 형성합니다.
C/EBP alpha는 주로 분화 완료된 세포에서 기능하며, C/EBP beta, gamma, delta, epsilon 등 유사한 결합 특성을 가진 다른 가족 단백질과 상호작용합니다.
특히 C/EBP beta와 delta는 서로 및 C/EBP alpha와 이합체를 형성할 수 있습니다.
