Target Information

EEF2K (Eukaryotic Elongation Factor 2 Kinase) is a highly conserved serine/threonine kinase involved in the calmodulin signaling pathway.
Its activity is upregulated in various cancers, including breast cancer.
EEF2K regulates protein synthesis by controlling peptide chain elongation.
Upon activation by upstream kinases such as AMPK or TRPM7, EEF2K phosphorylates elongation factor EEF2, preventing its binding to ribosomes and thereby reducing protein synthesis.
