The primary antibody is for professional laboratory use in detecting the corresponding protein in formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue via manual qualitative IHC testing. It is intended for use after tumor diagnosis by conventional histopathology.

Oct-2 Function and Expression:
Oct-2 is a transcription factor of the POU homeo-domain family that binds Ig gene octamer sites, regulating B-cell-specific genes. Expression is high in germinal center B-cells, mantle B-cells, monocytoid B-cells, and plasma cells. Increased expression is observed in mantle cell lymphoma, follicular lymphoma, marginal zone lymphoma, plasmacytoma, Burkitt lymphoma, diffuse large cell lymphoma, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, and Hodgkin lymphoma.
Low-level expression occurs in pre-B, T-cell, myelomonocytic, and epithelial cell lines, while mature B-cell lines show high levels. Oct-2 may also participate in transcriptional regulation during T-cell activation.

Recommended Usage

• Use with formalin-fixed and paraffin-embedded sections.
• Pretreatment with heat-induced or enzymatic epitope retrieval is recommended.
• IHC staining visualizes antigens via sequential antibody application and chromogenic reaction.
• Results should be interpreted using a light microscope for differential diagnosis.

Controls

• Positive Control: Tissue containing both positive and negative staining components.
• External Positive Control: Fresh, properly processed specimens with weak positive staining ensure detection of subtle sensitivity changes.
• Negative Control: Internal or external tissue without specific staining to confirm absence of background or non-specific staining.
