Glucocorticoid Receptor (NR3C1)는 글루코코르티코이드의 수용체로서 전사 인자 및 다른 전사 인자의 조절자로 작용합니다. 이 수용체는 heat shock factor 및 immunophilin과 함께 세포질 복합체 형태로 존재하며, 리간드 결합 시 핵으로 이동합니다. 심장 내 다양한 부위(심방, 심실, 대동맥 등)에 발현되며, 여러 프로모터와 스플라이싱 변형으로 다양한 전사 변형체를 생성합니다. NR3C1 유전자의 돌연변이는 글루코코르티코이드 저항성을 유발할 수 있습니다. GR은 리간드 활성화를 위해 샤페론 단백질 복합체와 결합해야 하며, 덱사메타손과 나노몰 농도 수준의 결합 친화도를 보입니다.
