Target Information
UBL4A is a component of the BAT3 complex, a multiprotein complex involved in the post-translational delivery of tail-anchored (TA) membrane proteins to the endoplasmic reticulum membrane.
UBL4A assists in the capture of TA membrane proteins, also known as type II transmembrane proteins, containing a single C-terminal transmembrane region.
The BAT3 complex facilitates the transfer of newly synthesized TA proteins to ASNA1/TRC40 for proper targeting to the ER.
