Target Information
Isovaleryl-CoA dehydrogenase (IVD) is a mitochondrial matrix enzyme that catalyzes the third step in leucine catabolism. Genetic deficiency of IVD results in accumulation of isovaleric acid, which is toxic to the central nervous system and leads to isovaleric acidemia.
