Target Information
Clathrin coat assembly protein AP180 is encoded by the SNAP91 gene in humans. Adaptins are components of adapter complexes linking clathrin to receptors in coated vesicles. These complexes interact with cytoplasmic tails of membrane proteins, facilitating their selection and concentration. Binding of AP180 to clathrin triskelia induces assembly into 60–70 nm coats.
