Target Information
The MAK10 gene encodes a 733-amino acid protein with similarities to T cell receptor alpha-subunit V regions in yeast. The mammalian homologue, also known as EGAP, is a subunit of a conserved N-terminal acetyltransferase (NAT) complex.
This enzyme complex plays a regulatory role in:
- Embryonic growth control
- Vessel development
- TOR signaling regulation
MAK10 is expressed in various tissues during development and remains active in adult tissues undergoing cell renewal or responding to injury. At least two isoforms of MAK10 are known to exist.
