This peptide corresponds to 18 amino acids near the carboxy terminus of human CKIP1.
PEP-0941 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20827.
Target Information
CKIP1 was identified through a yeast-two hybrid screening as a protein interacting with one of the two catalytic subunits of the casein kinase 2 complex.
CKIP1 is a pleckstrin homology domain-containing protein localized within the nucleus and plasma membrane, interacting with CK2alpha but not CK2alpha’. It plays a role in targeting CK2alpha to specific cellular locations and is implicated in muscle differentiation, cell morphology, and actin cytoskeleton regulation.
Additionally, CKIP1 interacts with ATM, an upstream kinase of p53, recruiting nuclear ATM to the plasma membrane and potentially regulating ATM function. CKIP1 can form a complex with AKT, leading to down-regulation of PI3K/AKT signaling and suppression of tumor growth in vivo.
