The FluoReporter™ Biotin Quantitation Assay Kit provides a sensitive fluorometric assay for determining the number of biotin labels on nucleic acid or protein samples (e.g., cDNA). The assay uses Biotective™ Green reagent, which contains a fluorescent dye quenched by ligands occupying the biotin binding sites. When biotin is present, these ligands are displaced, resulting in fluorescence proportional to the amount of biotin in the sample. The fluorescence can be measured using any fluorescence-based microplate reader capable of detecting FITC dye.

• Detects 4–80 picomoles of biotin per sample (≈50× more sensitive than HABA assay)
• Applicable to as little as 13 ng of biotin-labeled nucleic acid
