Target Information
The COMMD family represents a group of evolutionarily conserved proteins sharing a common COMM domain at their C-terminus, which mediates protein–protein interactions.
COMMD10 (COMM domain containing 10), also known as PTD002 or HSPC305, is a 202-amino-acid protein belonging to the COMMD family. It contains one COMM domain and is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 5, which spans approximately 181 million base pairs (about 6% of the human genome).
Deletion of the p arm of chromosome 5 is associated with Cri du chat syndrome, while deletion of the q arm or entire chromosome 5 is common in therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemias and myelodysplastic syndromes.
COMMD10 may modulate the activity of cullin-RING E3 ubiquitin ligase (CRL) complexes (PubMed:21778237) and may down-regulate activation of NF-kappa-B.
