Product Specific Information
- Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
- Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
Rb is a tumor suppressor nuclear phosphoprotein capable of binding to DNA. It is phosphorylated on serine and threonine residues, but not on tyrosine. It forms complexes with SV40 large T antigen, adenovirus E1A, and human papillomavirus-16 E. The Rb protein regulates transcription, and loss of its function can lead to uncontrolled cell growth. Aberrations in the RB gene have been implicated in cancers of the breast, colon, prostate, kidney, nasopharynx, and leukemia.
