Aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases는 tRNA에 해당 아미노산을 결합시키는 효소군입니다.
Lysyl-tRNA synthetase는 세포질에 존재하는 동형이량체(homodimer)로, class II tRNA synthetase 계열에 속합니다.
이 단백질은 다발성 근염(polymyositis) 및 피부근염(dermatomyositis) 등 자가면역질환에서 자가항체의 표적이 되는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
이 유전자는 다양한 isoform을 암호화하는 대체 스플라이싱 전사체를 가집니다.
