Target Information
AQR is involved in pre-mRNA splicing as a component of the spliceosome. It acts as an intron-binding spliceosomal protein linking pre-mRNA splicing and snoRNP biogenesis. AQR plays a key role in the assembly of intron-encoded box C/D snoRNPs, aiding snoRNA folding and binding intron regions near the branchpoint. It exhibits ATP-dependent RNA helicase activity capable of unwinding double-stranded RNA molecules with a 3' overhang.
