This antibody detects endogenous levels of total TRIB1 protein.
Target Information
TRIB1, also known as gprotein coupled receptor induced, skip1, gig2, and c8fwATP, functions in protein binding, protein kinase inhibitor activity, and protein serine/threonine kinase activity.
Overexpression of TRIB1 in HeLa cells represses basal IL8 promoter activity by inhibiting AP1 activity. It also inhibits oncogenic Ras-driven AP1 activation and MEKK1-mediated AP1 activation, while enhancing ERK activation.
Coimmunoprecipitation and yeast two-hybrid assays show MEK1 interacts with both TRIB1 and TRIB3, and MKK4 interacts specifically with TRIB1. Cotransfection of MKK4 enhances TRIB1 levels, indicating that TRIB-MAPKK interaction stabilizes TRIB1.
