Product Specific Information

Retinoid X receptor alpha, ligand binding domain (RXRA-LBD) is a 56.67 kDa recombinant human protein (amino acids 204–462) expressed as a GST fusion protein in baculovirus-infected insect cells.
RXRA-LBD was expressed and purified in the absence of exogenous ligands, making it ideal for ligand binding and coregulator displacement studies.

Functional Assay:
Functionally confirmed in a LanthaScreen™ TR-FRET coactivator assay to ensure performance.

Target Information

Retinoic Acid (RA), the active metabolite of vitamin A, plays a major role in regulating the transition of proliferating precursor cells (such as carcinoma and neuronal precursors) to postmitotic differentiated cells.
The Retinoid X Receptor (RXR) family—comprising RXR alpha, beta, and gamma—preferentially binds 9-cis-RA and regulates gene transcription by forming heterodimers with retinoic acid receptors (RARs).
RAs are implicated in neuronal development, synaptic plasticity, learning, memory, and may have therapeutic potential in cervical cancer.
