For IHC(P), use heat-induced antigen retrieval in pH 6.0 citrate buffer. After incubation with the primary antibody, slides were incubated with biotinylated secondary antibody, followed by alkaline phosphatase-streptavidin and chromogen.

Target Information

WNK1 serine/threonine kinase is a member of the WNK subfamily. It may regulate blood pressure by controlling sodium and chloride ion transport. Mutations in WNK1 are associated with pseudohypoaldosteronism type II and hereditary sensory neuropathy type II.
WNK1 plays a key role in electrolyte homeostasis, cell signaling, survival, and proliferation. It acts as both activator and inhibitor of sodium-coupled and potassium-coupled chloride cotransporters, respectively.
Activates SCNN1A, SCNN1B, SCNN1D, and SGK1. Localizes to the distal nephron segment involved in salt, potassium, and pH homeostasis.
