Product Specific Information
For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Cytokeratin 8 is a member of the type II keratin family located on chromosome 12.
Type I and II keratins form intermediate filaments in epithelial cells.
Cytokeratin 8 typically dimerizes with keratin 18 to form filaments in simple epithelial cells.
It plays a role in maintaining cellular structural integrity, signal transduction, and differentiation.
Mutations in this gene are associated with cryptogenic cirrhosis.
