Target Information
The ring finger protein RC3H1, also known as Roquin, is a highly conserved member of the RING-type ubiquitin ligase protein family. The M199R mutation in RC3H1 leads to excessive production of follicular helper T cells and germinal centers in the sanroque strain of mice, which exhibit high IL-21 levels and autoantibody titers. Complete loss of RC3H1 causes early death and immune deregulation, but not autoimmunity, suggesting that the mutant form is more disruptive than its absence.
