Target Information
MBL2 is a calcium-dependent lectin involved in innate immune defense. It binds mannose, fucose, and N-acetylglucosamine on various microorganisms and activates the lectin complement pathway. MBL2 also binds to late apoptotic and necrotic cells, facilitating their uptake by macrophages, but not to early apoptotic cells. Additionally, MBL2 may bind DNA.
