• Tested in direct ELISA (for coating use antibody at 1–5 µg/mL).
• For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
• Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

HHV8 (Human Herpes Virus 8) is associated with three diseases observed in AIDS patients:

• Kaposi’s sarcoma
• Primary effusion lymphoma (a rare type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma affecting body cavities)
• Multicentric Castleman’s disease

Evidence supports a direct role for HHV8 in the development of Kaposi’s sarcoma.
