Target Information
NME4 is a protein kinase that transfers phosphate groups from donors such as ATP to acceptor amino acids in substrate proteins. This mechanism mediates signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
Protein kinases form one of the largest protein families in eukaryotes, with over 500 gene products. They are classified into eight major groups based on sequence similarities in tyrosine (PTK) or serine/threonine (STK) kinase domains.
The AGC kinase group includes 63 kinases such as PKA/PKG, PKC, RAC/Akt, ARK, and RSK families.
