For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
To use this carrier-free antibody for conjugation experiments, it is recommended to perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Cystatin C, a member of the type 2 cystatin superfamily, is a potent inhibitor of cysteine proteinases, including lysosomal cathepsins and pathogenic enzymes.
It is a 13 kDa secreted protein found in high concentrations in biological fluids and expressed by all human nucleated cells.
Alterations in Cystatin C levels are associated with cardiovascular diseases such as atherosclerosis, amyloid angiopathy, and myocardial infarction.
Due to its low molecular weight, Cystatin C serves as a useful biomarker for renal failure.
