Target Information
The Rab interacting lysosomal protein (RILP) is a lysosomal protein that interacts with RAB7, a small GTPase controlling transport to endocytic degradative compartments. RILP is considered a downstream effector of RAB7, with both proteins regulating late endocytic traffic. Overexpression of RILP leads to enlarged, centrally located lysosomes, suggesting its involvement in lysosomal morphology regulation. RILP may also play a role in the biogenesis of multivesicular bodies.
