Target Information
C7orf44 (also known as COA1) is a component of the MITRAC (mitochondrial translation regulation assembly intermediate of cytochrome c oxidase complex) complex, which regulates cytochrome c oxidase assembly.
MITRAC complexes coordinate the translation of mitochondrial-encoded components and the assembly of nuclear-encoded components imported into mitochondria.
It is required for the assembly of mitochondrial respiratory chain complex I and complex IV.
